The challenge
The platform runs daily sales for its businesses, but it sat on a framework that no longer receives security fixes and on several abandoned packages. The interface was inconsistent, fell short of accessibility standards and loaded heavy scripts on every screen. There were almost no automated tests to protect money-critical flows.
Our solution
We are upgrading the system one framework version at a time, from Laravel 9 to Laravel 13. Each step only ships after tests, a clean database rebuild, an automated crawl of every screen and a manual checkout all pass. Alongside the upgrade we introduced a unified design system, WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility on the core till screens and lighter page assets. AI Assistance 2.0 adds business metrics computed from live data, rule-based insights and a chat advisor that answers questions about each branch's own numbers. The release is rehearsed on a copy of production data with a written rollback plan, so tills keep running.
